About Baby Blessing Children’s Home
This Children’s Home is located in Umoja Tena, Nairobi, Kenya. It is a registered charitable organization founded by Irine Gakii Mwirigi in 2011 who first cared for six children in her own house. Today, her organization provides healthcare, education and basic necessities to several dozen children facing a diverse set of challenges.
Baby Blessing’s residents receive love and counselling as they cope with neglect, abuse, and the repercussions of the HIV epidemic. The home has cared for infants as young as one- day old. Following rehabilitation, many children have been adopted, attended school, or become hopeful young adults.
